It participates in various EC initiatives, supporting the Spanish companies in a growing No of diverse EU-funded projects.
AITEX has carried or is carrying out a number of Projects under the VI and VII Framework Programmes and has coordinated several LIFE projects:
The application of advanced photo-oxidation techniques in the treatment of residual waters in the Textile industry. (LIFEENV99/E/346).
Water Purification Tertiary Treatment using Photo-oxidation at semi-industrial scale. (LIFE03 ENV/E/000102).
Alternatives for waste volume reduction in the textile sector through the application of minimisation measures in the production process and in the consumption. (LIFE05 ENV/E/000285).
Risk reduction to public health from environmental sources using biotechnology in the textile sector. (LIFE07/ENV/E/000794).
Demostrative solutions to reduce noise pollution in industrial areas, using finsihing technologies in textile materials. (LIFE09/ENV/ES/000461).
Wet-laid technology application for textile residues revalorization in composites industry. (LIFE10 ENV/ES/000431).
Revalorization of coastal algae wastes in textile nonwoven industry with applications in building noise isolation. (LIFE11/ENV/ES/0000600).
BIO-Monitoring and Automatic Microbiological Contamination Control System of Industrial Hydraulic Circuits. (LIFE11(ENV/ES/000552).
AITEX has a biotechnology research group with great experience in the treatment of wastewaters with cyclodextrines and also has performed several national research projects in that field.
